We're seeking a Senior Childrens Home Residential Care Practitioner to become part of a dynamic team for a Warwickshire local authority, working at their newly established Children's Home in Leamington Spa.

You'll work directly with them on a daily basis, building strong relationships with both the children and their families, and providing a safe and nurturing environment to help them achieve their goals. Salary: £31,364.00 - £33,945.00 per annum + additional pay for unsociable hours and sleep-ins.
Contractual hours: Full time working 37 hours, rota based
Region: Stratford-on-Avon


As a Senior Children's Residential Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the quality of day-to-day care, administration, and organisation of the Children's Home, while adhering to care plans for Children and Young People.
  • Compliance with all statutory regulations, additional instructions, and best practices, with meticulous maintenance of records.
  • Promotion and maintenance of positive anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practices.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Minimum of 3 years' experience of demonstrably effective work with children and families in a voluntary or professional setting, preferably in a residential children's Home, coupled with delivery of specialist intervention and partnership work.
  • A Relevant Child and family qualification to Level 3 with evidence of substantial experience as a family support worker or a NVQ Level Four or equivalent qualification in a relevant Child & Family subject or commitment to undertake the QCF qualification within 6 months of being in post.
  • Level of expertise in an area of children, family and parenting, gained through qualification or substantial work experience. An understanding of family dynamics and child development

The role will require shift working including working some weekends, evenings, sleeping in the home and being on call.
