Continuing Professional Development

Case Studies
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is basically what is says on the tin, using resources to develop yourself in a professional capacity. This is something which is expected in most professions from Business Management to Sports Coaching and of course, Social Work.

CPD can be done in many ways from a simple conversation with a mentor/manager or by attending a course specific to your job. However, in recent times CPD has been monitored and tracked by certificates of attendance or completion. An example for a Social Worker would be to attend a BIA training course. For a Sports coach, you could attend an Emergency First Aid course.

Since the regulatory body for Social Work changed from the GSCC to the HCPC, CPD has become of increasing importance with the successful renewal of your registration being based on the CPD you have done in the previous time of registration.

We have conducted lots of research and spoken with existing and potential contractors and have found that having CPD available to access online as well as available at allocated venues will mean this type of development is accessible to all types of workers.

As a Recruitment Agency specialising in Social Work development, Service Care Solutions has invested heavily to help our social workers easily complete their CPD activities. Therefore, in partnership with Elevate Learning & Development, we have created an online portal where our contractors can log in and complete their CPD activities from the comfort of their own home.

This is just one of the many benefits we offer our Social Workers here at Service Care Solutions alongside our Loyalty Bonus, Referral Bonus and others.

For more information on the new Online CPD Training Portal and other benefits of working with Service Care Solutions please contact your consultant or the social work team on 01772 208964.
