Harry joined Service Care Legal after graduating from Edge Hill University where he gained a degree in Physical Education and Sports. After exploring the hospitality industry Harry decided he wanted to carve out a career in Recruitment. He joined the company with an undeniable drive to succeed and has demonstrated so far why he was meant for this industry. Here Harry tells us why he enjoys his role and working at Service Care Legal…

Describe your job role at Service Care Legal?

My overall job role at Service Care Legal is to handle specialist Legal recruitment for both Public and Private sector clients across the North West. However there is a lot more to it. My job requires me to build good personal and professional relationships with both candidates looking for the right role and managers who require high quality candidates. I work hard to ensure the right people are in the right positions.

My job role also requires me to work hard on building new relationships with candidates and clients whilst maintaining existing ones. This involves me speaking to new people every day giving me the chance to expand my knowledge and experience of a busy market.

What do you enjoy most about working in recruitment?

I enjoy the fast paced environment. I enjoy the challenge of finding suitable candidates as soon as a new position is released and providing my clients with a great service. It can be stressful but that adds to the feeling of achievement when it all comes together. It may sound very obvious but I really enjoy building relationships with people and adding a personality to the process. I like to get to know candidates and clients as much as possible giving me the best chance to meet their requirements. Trust is very important and I like to gain the trust of candidates and clients that I will get the job done.

What does your typical day involve?

I will spend most of the day sourcing suitable candidates for open vacancies we have, this can involve searching CV’s on Job websites or using our extensive database to find ideal candidates. A part of my day will involve contacting clients. It is important we stay in touch to be first out of the blocks with a new position should they have requirements. Furthermore a typical day will always involve forward thinking and figuring out where the next opportunity will come from. It’s important to keep the work flow consistent.

If you weren’t working in recruitment, what would you be doing?

I would probably be still working in hospitality. Very similar to this role, I enjoyed interacting with people and the fast paced environment. I could see myself owning a beach bar somewhere hot and living the dream. One day.

What gives you the most satisfaction from your job?

I genuinely enjoy the satisfaction candidates or clients get when they have received a good service. It provides me with great satisfaction to see someone find the ideal job role thanks to my work. Additionally it is rewarding when a client is happy with the process and realises they made the right decision using Service Care Legal.
