As I was sat at my desk one day, I realised that eating lion bars and flaming hot monster much was not going to help me lose a little weight and get me feeling fitter. Therefore, I decided to start a running club within work, just one night a week for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The running club was mainly just to help myself and any colleagues that fancied getting a little fitter achieve this.

The first session is this evening and considering I only mentioned it to my colleague last week I feel 6 is a strong turnout. After the first session I plan to open, the club up to all the business as currently it is just the top floor of service care are aware. This was purely for trial purposes and if it backfired, I did not want the name Forest Gump (Run Forest, run!)

As it is the first week of the club it could still be a flop but fingers crossed it’s the start of something fun to do every Wednesday for an hour just to have a laugh and hopefully feel better in ourselves. I will be bobbing the odd blog on here and there to update on the progress of the club.

I hope that more and more people will buy into the ideal and have more and more numbers in the up and coming weeks.

At the end of the day, it is all about maintaining long-term sustainable health.

In terms of running the club, I want to deliver outstanding sessions each and every time, setting the benchmark as the best after work running club.

I plan to drive efficiency into the session making the most of the time we have.

I plan to use innovation by delivering tailored sessions to meet everyone’s fitness groups

I plan to have lots of passion about the club so people buy into my idea and help me on my legacy

Finally, I plan on the club achieving excellence and nothing less.
