Christmas 2015 is almost upon us (hasn’t it come up on us quickly!) and for many people in the construction industry it’s a time of well-deserved rest. After a great year with many new developments all around the North West of England (including Service Care Construction’s move to new offices on Winckley Square) there is plenty to do in the festive

Our trades and technical men and women will be looking forward to a change of scenery and here are our Service Care Construction’s Top 5 things to do in the North West of England over the festive period, we hope you manage to try a few, enjoy.

1. Manchester Christmas Market’s
Every year, these markets get bigger and bigger as well as busier and busier. People from all over the world come to enjoy the atmosphere, shopping experience as well as discovering all the food and drink. The work that has gone into building and ensuring all these stalls are set up and well lit is a credit to the construction team.

2. Pantomime in Blackpool
This year Blackpool’s Christmas pantomime is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Fun for all the family, especially for young children, it is an excellent excuse to go and enjoy comedy which caters for all ages. With everyone in the Christmas cheer, it truly makes it a memorable experience.

3. Beer festival in Liverpool
For many having a good period of time off it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy yourself on what would normally be a “school night”. This year Liverpool hosts its annual winter beer festival. A chance to try out new and existing ales and beers at Christmas and even get some presents sorted for family and friends!

4. Christmas shopping and eating
Every year Liverpool one dresses the shops and streets with Christmas cheer. Many pop-up Christmas shops come to light and they have much going on. Liverpool also has many places to eat with Christmas specials in all. It’s a place where you can find a present for everyone and also enjoy some ice skating too! So no breaking any legs before going back to work!

5. Walks in the lake district and Cumbria
Throughout Christmas and New Year, the Lake District and Cumbria are holding walks throughout the district. A fantastic chance over Christmas to do festive ramble, celebrate the winter solstice, step out with the family on Boxing Day or New Year’s Day to burn off the mince pies on a healthy stroll. It makes a great change of scenery to escape work mode and enjoy the North West’s beautiful countryside.
