Coporate and Social Responsibility

At Service Care Solutions we do more than just talk about CSR, as well as maintaining the highest level of service for our customers and clients, we aim to have a real and tangible effect on our local community in a positive manner. In order to help us achieve this goal, Service Care Solutions has split their focus into two categories, Charitable and Environmental.

Service Care Solutions has partnered with 5 local charities which we aim to help in a number of ways including financially through fundraising and by increasing their exposure through marketing. The charities were chosen by the staff here at SCS, some charities have personal importance to our staff, some have been supported by our staff in the past and some are just deserving organisations which we have selected. Below is an introduction to the charities which Service Care Solutions have partnered with:

  • Being a resource of people, place and community, especially for those on the margins of society

Derian House - Preston

Derian House provides respite and bereavement support for children who either have a life-limiting or life-shortening condition. Our teams support the entire family and we can work with families both at their own home and at our children’s hospice in Chorley.
The emphasis is on giving support to children and their families, and providing them with choices which deliver an approach to care as individual as they are. Derian House has an enviable reputation in setting exceptionally high standards in children’s hospice care. With a catchment area covering the whole of Lancashire and the South Lakes it is currently supporting more than 300 families who have a child or young adult suffering from a life shortening condition, as well as providing bereavement support for a further 200 families.

We are immensely privileged to provide a service which is so crucial to these children and young people, and to be part of a team which supports them and their family through the highs and lows of their illness, and beyond. Drawing on experience gained over the past twenty three years, the hospice team has refined and developed a range of care techniques and support strategies in such a way as to maximise potential, and ensure best practice across all disciplines within the hospice.

As a key member of Together for Short Lives, it is seen as a major contributor to a body which unites in seeking the exchange of views, policies and information for the ongoing promotion of best practice. Central to such is the partnership with other health care professionals and associated care services in maintaining the high standing that Derian House has achieved in the field of children’s hospice care.

Part of our responsibilities to the local community is to not have a negative effect on the both the local and global environment. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do here at SCS and in-fact makes up a key part of our vision "to be a long term sustainable recruitment consultancy"; this is not just with regards to the performance of our business but the effect that we have on the environment. Service Care Solutions are currently in discussion with environmental organisations in order to discover our carbon footprint and formulate a plan on how we can improve our carbon footprint as a business in the future. Keep an eye out on this page and our blogs for updates on this over the coming months.
