Job description: I am currently recruiting for a 2x Support Workers (Refuge Workers) based in Oxford. The working hours are 35 hours a week Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

You must have an Enhanced DBS to be considered for this role.

Duties will include :

*To take referrals and carry out needs assessments of prospective clients, liaising with health professionals, other agencies and colleagues as appropriate.
*Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist (DASHH) and any other assessment tools.
*To ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements and all related procedures.
*To agree and review Client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basis and deliver contracted hours of support in line with service specification.
*To deliver structured support groups as appropriate to the service specification and/or local need.
*Advocate for victims with internal departments, outside agencies and other stake holders and contacts where appropriate to ensure delivery of support.

The ideal candidate will have :

*Experience of working in support, housing or care role with vulnerable people, with an understanding of homelessness prevention strategies
*Experience of managing risk in line with multi-agency protocols
*Evidence of Child Protection experience
*Understanding of how to support people in obtaining and maintaining independent living skills in a planned and structured way
*Excellent knowledge of using Word, Excel and database packages in order to maintain accurate records
*Experience of working with clients fleeing from/at risk of domestic violence
