Job description: Access Officer, Childrens Social Work Team, West London

I am currently recruiting an Interim role for a 6month+ contract in Hammersmith and Fulham, West London. The role is to start ASAP.

Your duties will include:
*To provide expert advice and support, an effective response service to children, young people and their families.
*As part of the Family Services Front Door Team, to provide a single point of contact for members of the public and partner agencies who may have concerns over a child or young person.
*To process and screen contacts from professionals and families concerning children with identified needs in a timely, efficient, and safe manner providing information and advice as necessary.
*To analyse presenting issues and form recommendations for the team manager by using a risk assessment framework to determine what level of service is appropriate or needed.
*To develop close links with universal and voluntary sector services in order to resolve queries effectively, sign post or assist partner agencies in making referrals.
*Develop close liaison with the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, and the Duty Teams in Early Help Service and Contact and Assessment, to ensure that contacts are progressed in a timely and safe manner.

To apply for the role you will need:
*Successful experience of working within a Children's Service, voluntary sector or other settings with vulnerable children/young people and families.
*Knowledge of issues relating to child protection and vulnerable children, young people and families.
*Ability to record, update and prioritise contacts and case work in line with the service's policies and procedures.
*A good understanding and knowledge of the range of assessment frameworks that services use across Family Services, such as the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and the Child and Family Assessment.
