Job description: Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an interim Financial Systems Accountant to work a temporary contract within the council.

Pay £271.17 a day

To work with the Principal Accountant (Financial & Technical Accounting) and other members of the Council's Finance team to develop and deliver processes for the system administration of the recently implemented Financial Management System (FMS).

Job Role
1.To ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the FMS and effective support service to users. Perform routine and end of year processes.

2.To undertake the administration of the new FMS including updating roles and security, maintenance of system users, document templates, finance codes, ledger set ups, reporting and dashboards. Undertake system testing, document and report tests.

3.Maintain and improve controls on input to the FMS and carry out such review of output as necessary to maintain accurate and timely information.

4.Manage FMS service continuity, through proactive trouble-shooting, robust data quality control processes, system review and audit, providing and coordinating technical support in conjunction with the system supplier.

5.Contribute to the planning and management of major financial processes, such as closure of accounts and annual budgeting, in so far as they impact the FMS.

6.To develop reports, dashboards and business intelligence queries in line with user requirements using the integrated reporting tools provided in the new Financial Management System.

7.To provide technical support to the Finance team, promoting and extending their use of the new system, particularly with regard to budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting.

8.To assist in the development of training and related materials, as required.

9.Carry out any other duties as required by your line manager from time to time in accordance with the grading of the post.

Experience

Of Financial management systems administration in a complex organisation

Experience of maintaining finance systems and handling enquiries

Fully conversant with the operation of financial management systems including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and budgeting and forecasting
