Job description: A Local Authority based in Essex is looking for an Acquisitions/Building Surveyor to join their team. This is a full-time temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have a full surveying qualification, experience with Acquisitions and Landlord obligations and a strong background in residential local authority projects.

The main purpose of the role is to assist and be responsible for the delivery of a project between January and April 2021, the project involved incorporating over 70 property acquisitions into the housing portfolio within the first three months of the year.

The successful candidate must have;

Ability to scope works in residential properties and produce reports quickly in order to instruct works.
Have detailed knowledge on delivering homes ready for letting, including landlords legal obligations and requirement.
Have detailed technical knowledge to be able to review refurbishment works and be able to fault find and instruct remedial works, check buildings services and be able to instruct appropriate works for servicing and repairs.

The main responsibilities will include;

To be responsible for providing technical specifications required to support effective and efficient procurement of works and services to support delivery of Housing Investment and Development Asset management programmes.
The post holders will be responsible for undertaking condition and structural surveys. Along with providing technical advice to clients, take clients briefs, prepare feasibility studies and drawings in compliance with Building Regulations and Planning policies.
The post holders will be required to carry out assessments of grant and loan applications for grant and loan calculation and preparation of comparative estimates, including quantitative analysis, along with pre-approval visits
To be responsible for site supervision of grant and loan aided work and valuations for interim and final payment ensuring quality and financial control.

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this role and as such are offering a rate of £30 p/hr Umbrella Ltd (Approx. £730 p/week NET after deductions).
