Job description: One of the largest housing associations in the South East of England is recruiting for an Activities Coordinator to join their team in Hitchin, to play a vital role in their residents living to their fullest potential and flourishing in a brand-new home, focussing on care of the elderly.

The Role
The focus of this role is to coordinate the activities of the residents of this housing complex, to ensure service users and residents remain active, and involved. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Developing and overseeing an active living programme for each resident, which supports mobility, social contact, independence and fun.
*Collaborating with the nursing and senior staff to make an assessment of strengths and capabilities of each resident in regards to activities of daily living.
*Ensuring that any risk assessments have been carried out prior to any new planned activity or event.
*Devising simple and safe activities which encourage movement and maintain joint flexibility and functional use of hands and fingers in activities.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have prior experience working within a housing or care background, and ideally within Activity Coordination.
Due to the vulnerable nature of the service users you will be working with, an enhanced DBS will be required, so if you have a DBS on the update service, this will be beneficial to your application also.

This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and alternative weekends.

The Package
The role is paying an hourly rate of £9 per hour, equating to a salary of approximately £16,380.
You will also be entitled to the following benefits:

*Sector leading pension contributions
*Healthcare Cashback Plan
*In house training and development
*Study Leave (5 days per year, whilst studying)
