Job description: Job Title: Administration Officer
Location: Shrewsbury
Contract: 6 Months
Hours: Full Time

A Local Authority in Shrewsbury are looking for an experienced Administration Officer to join them who will be responsible for providing administration support to the Public Health teams. These duties include clerical duties which will drive efficiencies and improvements within the service.

The Role
The post holder will be;

*responsible to Healthy Child Programme Lead who is in turn responsible for the post holder's health and safety, training and development.

*expected to lead and/or contribute to a range of projects and build relations with both internal and external partners in order to achieve specified outcomes, but will not have direct authority over those involved.

*provide comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Public Health team and their direct line manager; including diary management, typing of confidential paperwork and other documents to meet deadlines.

*Enter and update information into the Public Health systems and present information in various formats including easy-to-read and analyse reports

*Contribute to the maintaining of the records of income and expenditure; including the committed and spent orders.

*Collate, record and process the timesheet information for out of hours work undertaken by their team and submit to Payroll in accordance with internal policies and processes

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must;

*Have experience of taking and producing accurate and comprehensive minutes of meetings

*Experience of working in a busy office environment

*Clear and effective communicator in writing, on the telephone and face-to-face with the public, professional colleagues and partners/suppliers.

*Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills MS Office skills, particularly in Excel and word.

*Experience of working in a Public Health environment. (Desirable)
