Job description: Administrative Assistant in the Child Protection Team for Swindon Borough Council, £9.90 ltd an hour

Start Date- ASAP
Contract End date- 6 months (chance of extension)
Hours per week - 37
Pay rate - £9.90 ltd an hour

Accountabilities
1.Organise Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, including temporary registrations for children transferring in and out of the Borough. Liaise with Social Workers and other professionals with regards to essential information from social care teams to enable preparation of necessary paperwork.
2.Prepare and issue letters of invitation to Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, including accompanying paperwork.
3.Allocate to supporting Business Support Administrators Invitation Letters, Decision Letters and completed Minutes for circulation to attendees as required.
4.Initiate and maintain paper files for each individual on a Child Protection Plan.
5.Distribute completed Child Protection Minutes within competing timescales.
6.Maintain the Independent Reviewing Managers' diaries.
7.Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and management information on the Children Services database. Collate statistical information relating to children on Child Protection Plans.
8.Provide cover for enquiries relating to children who are subject to a Child Protection Plan. Respond immediately to such enquiries by professionals from designated agencies and record these accordingly.
9.As a member of the Conference & Review Team, provide clerical and administrative support to the Independent Reviewing Managers and Team Manager.
10.Maintain the confidentiality of client information, ensuring that correspondence is appropriately handled and labelled.
11.Provide cover of administrative support and minute taking support for Child Protection Conferences when required.
12.As with all other administration staff in the team, other duties will include general clerical and administrative tasks e.g. data inputting, postal duties, photocopying and faxing.
13.Maintain knowledge of current developments around use of information technology.
14.Contribute to effective and efficient service delivery according to the priorities, policies and procedures laid down by the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.

Experience Required
*Typing speed of 60 wpm minimum
*At least 3 years' experience of working in an administrative role
*Emotional maturity due to a high level of emotional stress with the content and subject matter
