Job description: Service Care Legal are currently recruiting for a local authority in South East England. Due to increased workload, there is a new requirement for an Adult Care Lawyer to join the Legal Services team on a locum basis. Initially this role will be for 3 months, but will have the strong possibility of extension.

ROLE:Adult Care Lawyer
LOCATION:South East England
RATE:£35 to £40ph
CONTRACT:3 months ongoing

Please note this role is inside IR35. Interviews will be conducted remotely, and there will be working from home for the foreseeable future.

The Role

*Reporting into the Principal Solicitor, the main focus will be on progressing Adult Social Care matters through to completion
*Cases will include, but not limited to, Deprivation of Liberty Declarations, Safeguarding and undertaking Court of Protection welfare work
*There will also be the need to assist on cases related to Children's Services, Employment and Contracts Law
*To provide other council members with up to date legislative advice

The Person

*A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with at least 2 years' PQE
*Previous experience of working within a local authority would be highly desirable
*It would be ideal but not essential for someone to have worked Adult Care case during Covid-19
*Someone who is well organised and can work well to deadlines
