1.MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

You will work directly with social workers, practice educators, and teams in Children's Services to improve the quality of social work through developing, maintaining and championing expertise in specific areas of social work practice.

You will work with the Principal Social Worker in developing learning activities based on research evidence and professional expertise in order to support the achievement of improved outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

As part of this role you will also be a practice educator supporting, mentoring, and developing a range of innovative training and learning opportunities to help Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) in their Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) complete their professional development requirements for this year.
You will also contribute to a comprehensive quality assurance framework across the service, by undertaking a range of auditing activity, analysing and distributing findings to develop a learning culture in Medway Children's Social Care.
You will have a lead role in a specific area of practice development.

KEY CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITIES
*To work with colleagues to contribute to service plan objectives/targets.
*To participate in one to one Performance Development Reviews and contribute to the identification of own and team development needs.
*To actively promote the Council's Fair Access, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and observe the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.
*To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Council's Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
*To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 of the duty of Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.
*At the discretion of the Head of Service, such other activities as may from time to time may be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.
