Job description: A housing association based in East London is looking to add a permanent Asbestos Surveyor to their team. This is a fully permanent role and the successful candidate must hold a P402 qualification, have experience working as a lead surveyor and ideally have extensive experience in a social housing/residential setting.

The main purpose of the role is to carry out asbestos surveys and re-inspections in a variety of social housing contexts. This will include;

Taking samples and obtaining laboratory test results.
Oversee and administrate asbestos removal where appropriate and ensuring the Asbestos Register is regularly and accurately updated.
Produce detailed specifications and tender documents for repairs, planned improvements and corrective works in line with current regulation and legislation
Procure works contracts to achieve Value for Money, efficiency and best practice in line with the Group's tendering procedures
Manage and supervise contracts and directly employed personnel on site, acting as contract administrator or client representative under various forms of contract
Deliver allocated projects to time, quality and budget, whilst ensuring a high quality of work output and customer satisfaction levels
Produce feasibility studies and reports to provide suitable justification for the reinvestment in the Group's stock
Assist with option appraisals and sustainability reviews for the Group's properties as required
Provide professional advice and expertise on major works as required
Ensure that the Group complies with all relevant legislation and best practice/processes

The key accountabilities the successful candidate will be responsible for will include;

Ensuring that responsibilities for Health and Safety are properly understood and discharged as defined in One Direct's Health & Safety Policy
Comply fully with the clients policies and procures including the standing orders and financial regulations.

Quality checking survey reports

The client is looking to appoint quickly to this role and as such are offering a generous remuneration package which will include but is not limited to;

£30,000 - £38,000 basic salary per annum
