Job description: My client, a Housing Association based in Salford is looking for an Asbestos Surveyor to join their team. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months and the successful candidate will hold the P402 qualification along with a full UK driving licence and own vehicle.

The main purpose of this Asbestos Surveying position is to assist the Asbestos Manager in actively delivering asbestos work across the whole of the client's property portfolio.

This will include a programme of cyclical and planned audits / inspections, maintaining accurate and updated management systems, supervising annual programmes and remedial works and providing general technical advice on asbestos management.

Other duties associated with this role will be as follows;

Delivering surveys, inspections, audits and repairs
Ensuring all work is completed on time and to budget in compliance with relevant legislative duties, additional statutory provisions and demonstrates best practise within the sector.
Providing expert technical knowledge and manage compliance of all aspects of Asbestos
Ensuring that the services comply with current regulations, are maintained and improved.
Monitoring of contractors in delivery for this work and subsequent actions to be taken for dangerous and high risk items identified.
Assist the Asbestos Manager in identifying risk and contributing to high quality reports indicating areas of non-compliance, with recommendations, priorities and estimated action plans.
Managing the risk assessment programmes for Asbestos Hygiene
Action any critical priority risks highlighted from programmes and inspections ensuring effective delivery of all compliance works to a high level of customer satisfaction.
Maintain a comprehensive risk register, holding current asbestos records, identifying inspection findings, input to high quality management reports with recommendations and action plans, highlighting the steps required for properties to meet legal and other compliance's
Maintaining asbestos management systems and implementing any changes to improve effectiveness of the systems.
Reviewing existing asbestos surveys and identifying where re-surveys are required, using a risk base approach.
Providing assistance in managing, assessing and implementing a prioritised programme of re-surveys or works.
