Job description: A Housing Association based in North London is looking for an Assistant Director of Service & Compliance to join their team. This is a full time, permanent role and the successful candidate must have a full relevant degree level qualification, proof of CPD, extensive experience dealing with Property Compliance (Gas Servicing, Lift Maintenance, Fire Safety, Asbestos, Electrical Testing, Water Management) and ideally a strong background in Property/Housing projects.

The main purpose of the role is to Lead the Service and Compliance Teams to ensure the client achieves statutory and regulatory compliance in the 'top 6' compliance areas of Gas Servicing, Lift Maintenance, Fire Safety, Asbestos, Electrical Testing, Water Management and the wider compliance areas, ensuring we keep our customers and buildings safe.
You will also be expected to play a full strategic role in the Operations Directorate, proactively contributing to business planning & budget management

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;

The strategic management of the Service and Compliance work stream which is delivered via a 'mixed economy' of our DLO (gas servicing, asbestos surveys and electrical services) and by our external contractors through a variety of contracts.
Ensuring the client meets statutory and regulatory compliance through managing maintenance and inspection contracts for service & compliance areas.
To collate and report on performance indicators for each compliance work stream, ensuring that effective pre, in-process and post completion quality checks are conducted, and the results of such checks recorded and used to improve performance.
Ensure all service and compliance work is conducted across relevant premises; where properties fall 'out of scope' evidence is recorded to provide an auditable explanation.
Strategic planning and development of the service including developing new policies, procedures and harnessing technology to support service delivery.
Continuous improvement and value for money is captured and recommendations for future service delivery reported.
Working with Heads of Service, prepare specifications for the procurement of contracts.
Ensure where possible, customers and key stakeholders are involved in planning and procuring new services.
Attendance at Executive, Committee and Resident meetings.
Prepare and present reports on operational areas of responsibility.
Ensure effective record keeping and monitoring systems are in place and maintained to a high standard to facilitate responses to complaints, members enquiries, freedom of information requests. .

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Qualifications;

Relevant degree and/or professional qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience

Experience;

Experience in the leadership of relevant areas of responsibility at a senior management level, within an organisation of comparable scope and complexity
A proven record of successful change management, delivering new working policies and practices alongside cultural and structural change
Delivering services with a 'commercial approach' that clearly demonstrate VFM
Strong experience in people management, performance, development and staff engagement
Experience of working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver improved services and performance

Knowledge;

Can demonstrate up to date knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory framework in the areas of responsibility

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such, are offering a salary of £80,000 Per annum along with an excellent benefits package.
