Job description: Assistant Gymnastic Coach Level 1 - Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland

We are currently recruiting for an assistant gymnastic coach for a local council in the Newcastle area.
Your main job role to assist the Gymnastics Coach in developing and implementing a comprehensive and structured programme of gymnastics coaching.

To promote physical well-being and improved health through gymnastics coaching activities.

1.To assist in developing, adapting and delivering suitable structured programmes of lessons.

2.To assist in developing work programmes with realistic targets for individuals and to prepare them for competition.

3.To comply with internal Codes of Practice including supervision and safety procedures.

4.To follow agreed accident procedure, and administer first aid if required.

5.To ensure equipment is in a safe condition and any defects reported immediately. To reorder stock as required.

6. To assist in organizing and supervising gymnastic competitions as required.

7.To maintain an up to date awareness of matters relating to gymnastic coaching.

8. To ensure that all gymnastic coaching complies with the service's quality systems.

9. To ensure that Corporate policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

10. To contribute to Departmental working groups as required.

When applying for this role candidate's must
*Current UKCC Level 1 qualification or equivalent.
*Experience of coaching recreational gymnastics in a structured environment to include keeping records and organising competitions.

*Experience of coaching a range of abilities and age groups (i.e beginners to competition level)
*Knowledge of current coaching techniques.

*Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including parents, children and members of the public.

*Ability to lead and work as part of a team.

*Ability to work evenings and weekends according to the requirements of the post.

*Ability to work across a range of council run gymnastic classes in different leisure facilities.

Working hours- 13 hours per work. Monday and Friday 10:00pm - 17:00pm.
