Job description: A local authority based in Sheffield is looking for an Assistant Landscape Architect to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a full Degree Level Landscape/Architecture qualification, experience with AutoCAD/Adobe Creative Suite/3D graphics & presentations and ideally experience in a similar local authority position.

The main purpose of the role is to undertake a range of planning and landscape design duties relevant to the work of the team and in accordance with the work programme and priorities identified in the annual Service Plan.

Duties will include the conception, implementation and monitoring of projects, the production graphical and presentation material and contributing to the development management process under the guidance of senior members of the team.

The team delivers a wide range of projects from city centre public spaces to residential layouts and neighbourhood parks, and has gained a reputation for developing innovative forms of sustainable drainage.
Being based within the Planning Service, there is a significant involvement in high level initiatives, operating within multi-disciplinary teams to produce masterplans, area frameworks and other strategic pieces of work.
You should be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, possess strong 3D graphic and presentation skills and, a problem solving attitude to design.

Other main responsibilities will include;

Undertake professional work relevant to the activities of the Urban and Environmental Design Team
Design, specification and project management of capital projects/programmes under the guidance of senior members of the Urban and Environmental Design Team.
Working collaboratively as part of project teams incorporating different Council Services, private sector organisations and voluntary bodies.
Making creative use of the range of technical and graphical IT applications available.
Assisting members of the team in the development and delivery of projects, provision of development management advice and liaison with stakeholders.
To prepare written reports, illustrative material and correspondence to communicate with and advise the Council, developers, the public and project partners in relation to regeneration project proposals

The client is looking for an Assistant Landscape Architect with ideally the experience outlined above, however the client is open to accepting applications from Graduate/Junior Landscape Architects as well .
