Job description: A London based council are recruiting for an Assistant Neighbourhood Housing Officer based in Lambeth. To assist with the provision of a customer centric day-to-day housing management service within a local area office. To support the delivery of an integrated generic housing service to tenants and leasehold customers and to work closely with other teams to achieve sustainable tenancies in sustainable communities. To act as a regular and visible presence on estates, supporting other Neighbourhood Housing Staff

The Role

Your key duties within the role will include the following:
-To investigate and respond to service requests, email, telephone queries and reception queries
-To undertaking tenancy visits, viewings, estate walkabouts and undertake sign-ups of new tenancies.
-Draft responses to general correspondence and investigation of Complaints and Local Government Ombudsman enquiries
-To provide general support to a team of Neighbourhood Housing Officers, Team Leaders and Managers
-Set up and maintain local databases to enable the timely and accurate extraction of data on all aspects of the Area Team work.
-Update management information systems and databases with, for example, data relating to customer profiling, tenancy audits, estate inspections, anti-social behaviour and moving home applications.
-To answer straightforward correspondence and draft replies on behalf of the Housing Management team, Area Manager and other members of the Area Management team and obtain their approval on more complex matters. To ensure all correspondence is replied to within target timescale
-To be responsible for timely and accurate research, preparation, analysis and submission of data / information under the direction of, and as requested by, the Area Manager and other members of the Area Management team
-Respond to complaints, members' enquiries and problems of service delivery which are within the post holder's responsibility and make suggestions for improving service delivery.
-Ensure the efficient processing of allowances, rights to compensation, ex-gratia claims and discretionary awards in line with policy, audit and legal requirements
-Ensure the delivery of all services comply with relevant legislation and regulation.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must have experience and understanding of tenancy management functions, and a good working knowledge of Northgate.

The Contract
This is a contact starting 01/04 to 30/06, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
