Job description: My client based in Caerphilly has a new position available for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and will hold a relevant professional qualification.

Job Purpose

*Management of allocated contracts (including energy efficiency).

*Technical advice and support to relevant Project Manager.

*Management of contract information within Keystone.

*Management of energy data for housing stock.


Depending on the allocated role there will be supervisory responsibilities for staff including
Clerk of Works
Other technical officers
The number will vary but could be between 6 and 15 officers.

There will be flexibility to deploy staff between project teams dependent on the needs of the programme.

Duties include responsibility for staff welfare, training and development, work allocation and a requirement to undertake regular performance reviews and 1-2-1s. The post holder will be expected to support senior managers with disciplinary and recruitment activity.


Relevant Level 5 technical qualification equivalent to on the Credit and Qualifications Framework.

Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
Sound knowledge of contract management within the Housing sector or similar environment.

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, and landlord responsibilities applicable to the social housing sector.

Excellent project management skills.

Good communication skills.

Good customer service skills; ensuring customers needs and expectations are met and resolving complaints from dissatisfied tenants.

Negotiation skills to lever a collaborative approach to contract management.

Strong IT skills including a high level of competence in the use of MS Project, Excel and Word.

Ability to maintain Keystone database.

Undertake site inspections in homes where conditions will be highly variable.

Adopt a sensitive approach with vulnerable tenants.

Ability to adapt to change.

Flexibility to job duties.

Proven experience of contract and project management in the Housing sector.

Experience of CDM Regulations 2015.

Supervisory experience and dealing with staff issues.
