Job description: Service Care Health are currently looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work at an NHS clinic in Preston. In this role you can expect to be earning between £20-£24 per hour. The clinic can book up to 3 months in advance, although shift work is available

This post offers great variety and the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team.

About the role:
-You will be joining the clinics well established community stroke team
-You will manage your own caseload and will have the opportunity to work across both the community and acute setting
-You will undertake assessment of patients with complex presentations, using investigative and analytical skills
-You will promote health and reduce inequalities for all patients so they may be able to maximise their potential in terms of health
-You will lead/contribute to training and development programmes

About you:
-You must have high energy, drive and enthusiasm for the role
-Excellent communication skills are needed to communicate with patients/relatives/carers and in sensitive situations
-You must have great planning and organisational skills to maintain the standards of the clinic and to meet deadlines
-An in depth understanding of current NHS guidelines on organisational change are needed

-A Speech and Language Degree Qualification
-Post graduate qualification in specialist field
-Evidence of CPD in related field of clinical expertise
-Current professional registration with HCPC as a speech therapist
-Experience in dysphagia assessment and management is essential
-Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle to do so
