Job description: A role has arisen within the NHS in St Helens; Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a temporary Payroll Operational Manager to work a 2 month contract, with the potential of an extension.

The Payroll Services operate a shared service to approximately 25 NHS clients.

The ideal candidate will have very recent proven record of accomplishment of NHS payroll operational management experience and be CIPP qualified (desirable). A definite record of strong team leadership, with knowledge of ESR end-to-end payroll processes HMRC obligations etc. The candidate will be very well organised with good communication skills. Results orientated with a passion for continuous development of the payroll service.

The candidate will work with the Assistant Director of Payroll Services and the Head of Payroll Service Development to manage the relationship of the Payroll Service with its current and potential Clients. You will be able to identify needs and requirements to promote the Service solutions and achieve mutual satisfaction in relation to any issues.

The post will oversee payroll operations for a number of Clients, ensuring each stage of the payroll process is properly actioned, that staff are paid correctly, correct payments are made and appropriate information is communicated to pension providers, HMRC and other statutory and pension scheme bodies.

You will work collaboratively with Clients and the Service to ensure both are enabled to meet their obligations under any contract for services or Service Level Agreement (SLA). You will complete the contract/SLA life cycle ensuring contracts are appropriately monitored to meet the required outcomes.

Financial responsibility including authorised signatory for signing off BACS for payroll and approves pay-overs to Finance, such as NEST contributions and third party deductions.
