Job description: A secondment has given rise to an excellent opportunity for a Benefits Assessor for a local authority based in Coalville; working in a very busy customer service centre, dealing with a variety of council services from Council Tax, Benefits and Waste Services.

The Role:
In this role, your responsibilities will include the following:
-Processing claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit
-Interviewing and assisting applications for benefits
-Liaise with third parties regarding benefits claimants
-Deal with queries in person and over the phone or email
-Keep records relating to benefits claims updated

The Candidate:
To be successful in this role, it is absolutely essential that you have a proven background in customer service along with some specialised knowledge of Revenues and Benefits. It will also be highly beneficial if you are able to learn quickly, use initiative and multi task especially using a variety of ICT packages.

The Contract:
This an initial three-month contract and may be extended based on individual and success of recruitment. This is a full time position, working 36.25 hours a week, between 8.45 and 17.00.
