Job description: My client, a Housing Association based regionally in London is looking for a Mechanical/Electrical Surveyor to join their team. This is a full Permanent position and the successful candidate will hold a relevant M&E or Engineering qualification along with experience in a similar Surveying role.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for ensuring M & E inspections, testing, servicing, maintenance and remedial works are delivered on time and to the required standard.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

Manage contractors to ensure they deliver the M & E programmes on time and to the required standard whilst managing any under performance as it arises.
Provide technical specifications and guidance to contractors to ensure the correct standard of M & E equipment is installed and maintained.
Quality assure remedial actions following inspections and testing to ensure M&E risk is mitigated across the organisation and contractors are held to account to deliver what works are required.
Provide timely and accurate reports to the Technical Services Manager
Provide technical M & E safety guidance to the operational colleagues across the organisation to support an improved safety culture.
Attend sites to meet with external parties such as the HSE to represent the client and take accountability of actions required in relation to M & E safety for the organisation.
Liaise with customers to provide M & E safety advice and resolve complex complaints in a timely manner.
Quality assure M & E inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance to confirm level of risk and necessary actions to be taken have been captured accurately and articulated appropriately to colleagues across the organisation.

The successful candidate will need to have a relevant M & E or engineering qualification along with preferably at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. The candidate will also show extensive knowledge in the areas of inspecting, testing, servicing and maintaining M&E works. You will need a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for travel occurring during the course of your duties.
