Job description: A Building Surveyor based around the Greater Manchester area is required to join a local authority client. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will need a full Surveying qualification, experience working on schools and public buildings and ideally experience in a local authority setting.

The main purpose of the role is to carry out all types of Building Surveys - to include Condition, Dilapidation, bespoke, and whole life cycle costing, etc. on the client's schools and public buildings.

Responsibilities associated with the role are as follows;

Manage post survey construction works from tender production to execution and completion of works on site.
To assist the Lead/Senior Building Surveyors to deliver high quality services with specific responsibilities for Building surveying section of Property Services.
To act as a point of contact on behalf of the Lead/Senior surveyor as requested for the clients whilst demonstrating excellent customer care skills and the ability to assist the Lead/Senior Building Surveyors with project procurement
To organise and manage the execution of project work ensuring high standards, undertaking value engineering as required to ensure value for money, competitiveness and compliance with specifications.
To manage any budgets delegated to the post holder and to advise the Lead/Principal building surveyors on any deviation from budget and project cost forecasts.
To be responsible for regularly updating and maintaining an appropriate inventory of equipment's - to Statutory and Company requirements and to contribute towards the vision, values aims and objectives of Property Service and RBC

The successful candidate must be able to produce specifications relating to small works and refurbishments to schools and public buildings and must be able to use AutoCAD to produce drawings.

The client is looking to move quickly in appointing to this role and as such are offering up to £20 per hour Umbrella Ltd for the duration of the assignment.
