Job description: A local authority based in Hertfordshire is looking for a Damp & Mould Building Surveyor to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must hold a full professional qualification, have experience dealing with similar defects and ideally experience in a local authority setting.

The main purpose of the role is to identify and diagnose defects and repair solutions, in particular dealing with Damp and Mould in residential properties.

The main responsibilities will be as follows;

Detailed knowledge of building technology and construction including identifying diagnosing defects and repair solutions.
Liaising with the tenants and ensuring good communication.
Liaising with internal teams to ensure coordination with other capital works programmes, and the Council's Repairs and Void team.
Monitoring Contractor performance ensuring that the contract conditions and quality is maintained. Including on-site construction and posy completion inspections/checks.
Visiting site, carrying out survey and inspections and providing reports on findings.
Preparing specifications/schedules for repairs and alteration/construction projects on residential properties and procuring works from inception to completion.
Budget and cost control. Obtain quotations and check contractor's applications for payments.
IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of Northgate and Keystone software systems would be an advantage.

The client is looking to appoint to this position ASAP, as such is offering a salary of £22 p/hr Umbrella Ltd - £26 /hr Umbrella Ltd for the duration of the contract.
Being Inside IR35, an Umbrella provider will be used to process weekly pay (approx. £550 - £640 per week take home after deductions)
