Job description: My client, a Housing Association based in Leicester is looking for a Building/Area Surveyor to join their team. This is a full time, permanent position with an ASAP start.

The main duty of the role is to oversee Reactive and Planned Maintenance across the clients residential and commercial properties. There will be travel required across the Midlands however mileage and a car allowance is provided.

The majority of the work will be based around a 3 mile radius which covers around 300 properties for the client, the responsibility will be performing surveying duties for both day to day reactive repairs and cycles of planned maintenance.

Travel will be required at some points to various locations such as Northampton, Kettering and Birmingham, however the client will pay for any mileage accrued and also has a car allowance set aside per annum.

Other Duties associated with this role will include the following;

To inspect the housing stock and building works, prepare term contract schedules and specifications; compile tender/contract documentation to deliver repairs on demand and improvement works to a range of buildings.
Carry out pre and post inspection surveys.
Carry out repairs and void surveys along with compiling the full schedule of works required.
To ensure that the properties are maintained and improved to the required standards, within authorised budgets and agreed timescales.
Ensure contractors and suppliers perform to specification and contractual terms.
Ensure that PA Housing and Co-operative's Health & Safety responsibilities and policies are pursued wherever applicable.
Manage insurance claims related to property.
Prepare detailed specifications and tender documentation for repairs on demand and minor improvement works ensuring service standards are achieved.
Assist in consultations with customers in relation to all planned and cyclical works, and actively participate in the tenants meetings in order to ensure the delivery of a customer focused service.
Carry out full contract administration for projects under control ensuring certificates are accurately issued within the timescale and payments are processed in time.
Arrange and chair regular contracts and site meetings with contractors employed by PA Housing, monitor and assess their performance, and accurately record the meetings.
Prepare annual budget proposals in relation to planned maintenance, Decent Homes and cyclical painting programmes.

The successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification in a discipline such as Building Surveying and will have a full UK driving licence and a business insured vehicle.
