Job description: Business Rates Team Leader, Waltham Forest.
The Revenues and Benefits team at a London based Local Authority are looking to recruit a Business Rates Team Leader, to deal with and Manage the day to day administration, collection and enforcement of business rates.


The Role
This varied role as Commercial Rents Finance Officer will see you:-
The role:
*To manage and lead a Revenues collection and recovery team dealing with all types of Revenues queries and associated activity including recovery of Council Tax, NNDR, BID's and Housing Benefit overpayments. Set annual team targets to contribute to the overall collection for your area of responsibility.
*To develop a Revenues Team Plan as part of the Income Operations Business Plan to ensure that corporate and statutory performance targets including collection targets for in year and arrears collection are achieved by the team minimising risk associated with loss of collection whilst quality and accuracy of data are maintained.
*To continuously drive improvement in delivery performance by developing and implementing policies, initiatives and strategies to improve both team and individual performance; and to share this best practice with other Team Leaders.
*To work in conjunction with the Operations Manager Revenues and Head of Income Operations to influence, develop and deliver the council's strategy for the Exchequer Services, taking responsibility for a specialist portfolio within Income Operations.
*To develop and maintain effective relationships with other Income Operations teams, key partners, service providers, stakeholders and the wider community in order to facilitate the delivery of high quality services that meet user needs.
*To contribute to the Council's anti-poverty strategies through the performance of the Income Operations team.
The Contract
This is a 3 month contract starting ASAP, 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
