Job description: We are looking for a Business Support Officer to work within the business support team in a local authority. The key role within the job include, Copy and audio typing, taking meeting minutes if required, reception duties i.e. welcoming clients, answering phone, taking messages, general office duties (filing, photocopying, faxing etc)

The Role
*Produce accurate word processed documents such as letters, memos, reports, minutes etc adhering to OCR standards (as stated on the employee specification).
*Produce documents and presentations using packages such as Microsoft Publisher and PowerPoint.
*Maintain databases and spreadsheets utilising Microsoft Access and Excel.
*Provide confidential and direct support to Officers and their respective service teams
*Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information being processed e.g. confidential reports, staffing, reports, references, confidential letters and statutory/legal documents.
*Ensure that documentation sent out via Children, Young People and Families is quality assured to maintain high standards at the required level
*Prepare, collate and distribute agendas, minutes and supporting papers, and be the conduit for all meeting administration function. Take minutes at the meeting and distribute accordingly
*Maintain a smooth flow of work and prioritise own workload to meet set deadlines.
*Provide clerking/minute services for meetings
*Arrange internal and external meetings, seminars, conferences, room bookings etc, liaising with internal and external bodies.
*Undertake reprographic duties.
*Liaise with Officers, Headteachers, Councillors, other outside bodies and members of the public to obtain or relay information, through all methods of communication e.g. email, fax, telephone, post
*Participate in team meetings as and when required.
*Order goods and services via the agreed procurement system in accordance with financial procedures and regulations using the Council's preferred supplier list wherever possible
*Process payment of invoices to suppliers via the approved procurement system
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must have:
*Proven research skills and reporting skills using Excel.
*Ability to analyse data and identify trends
*Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
The Contract
This is a temporary contact starting ASAP to 28th June 2019, working 37 hours per week.
