Job description: One of the largest housing associations in the South East is recruiting for a Care Assistant for one of their sheltered housing schemes in Haringey (N17), working days on a permanent basis.

The Role
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high quality, flexible, person-centred care, treating all individuals with respect and dignity at all times. You will support our residents to achieve the outcomes in their personalised care plan, improving their quality of life and building confidence and skills to enable independent living, whilst playing an active role in their communities. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*To provide assistance and/or guidance where needed with personal care, e.g. taking medicines, shaving, and intensive personal or intimate care in circumstances where this is required
*To carry out tasks including; shopping, cleaning, ironing, cooking, collecting benefits and/or prescriptions, and escorting to attend appointments whilst promoting individual independence
*To monitor the physical and emotional health of customers and take necessary action
*To participate in and monitor care plans

The Candidate
To be considered for the role, you will require previous experience in support work or care and be kind, caring, compassionate and have motivation to do a great job. You will also need to the following:
*Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable adults, whether in a voluntary or paid capacity.
*Experience of providing assistance and/or guidance where needed with personal care
*Knowledge of policies & procedures, including: Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Customer Care
*Good level of IT skills and literacy
*Knowledge and experience of registered care management
*Knowledge and experience of CQC standards and CQC Compliance
*Experience and knowledge of effective staffing and budget management
*Experience of staff management, development and retention in a care and support setting
As you will be working with vulnerable individuals, you will require a DBS check.

The Contract
This is a full time permanent role, working 37 hours per week on the following shifts:
*7 day rota - 7AM - 3PM, 2PM - 10PM (you must be able to work weekends and all above shifts).
