Job description: Our client is currently looking for Case Work YOT Officers in Kent full time on a 4 month contract.

The main purpose of the job will be to hold a caseload of young offenders who are on remand or sentenced. The successful applicant will be acting as a link between community and internal agencies to ensure robust training and release plans are in place, to meet needs and address risks. You will be providing a comprehensive resettlement service for young people, ensuring that sustainable plans are in place prior to discharge in respect of accommodation, education/training, primary medical care and financial support. The post holder will also be required to undertake 1:1 work with young people to address their offending behaviour.

To be eligible for this role you will need:

*Demonstrable experience of working with young people and adolescents
*Ability to assess a young person's levels of risk and vulnerability
*An understanding of child care legislation, e.g. Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004.
*Demonstrable technical/specialist/policy & procedural knowledge in regards to working with young people, which can be applied across a wide range of activities. Ability to complete a range of complex tasks such as report writing, presentations, and detailed assessments

Further to this the ideal candidate will have the following skills:

*Knowledge of National Standards for Youth Justice Services
*Demonstrable experience of using a computerised case management system
*Experience and knowledge of the secure estate/ Youth Justice System, in respect of young people
