A vacancy has opened for a Part-Time Central Control Operator, to take overnight calls from vulnerable residents over the Care Line system, run by a Local Authority in Coalville.

The Role
In this role, your responsibilities will include the following:
*Responding to pull-cord and lifeline calls - judging situations and informing emergency service / next of kin as appropriate
*Handling council out of hours calls, including general queries and repairs focussed calls for other council services

The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will require experience in a phone-based customer service, or elderly care-focussed role, or ideally a mixture of the two.
Due to the nature of the clients, you must be patient and compassionate with the ability to handle highly stressed situations and be comfortable to use your judgement to make difficult decisions.
The main IT system will be Tunstall PNC and training will be provided, however, any experience will, of course be favourable.

The Contract
This is an initial 2-month contract covering maternity leave. The maternity employee is likely to take some holiday in May with the maternity leave commencing 7th June 2019 and proposes to take the full maternity year off, so this is likely to provide a minimum of 12-months work.
The role works 20 hours per week, covering the night shift. This is 22:30 though to 07:15, so 8.75 hours lone working.
Bank Holidays hours are paid at double time which this shift happens to fall on both Bank Holiday Mondays in May but only starting so 22:30 to Midnight is double rate, midnight to 07:15 is normal rate.
