Job description: My client is looking for x2 experienced and talented chefs on a full time permanent basis, in the Buckinghamshire area (Aylesbury or High Wycombe). The successful candidate will have plenty of flair and enthusiasm to take on the exciting position of Chef/cook at one of the most recognised and trusted care establishments.

My client is an exciting specialist residential home providing care for people with dementia and care for older people.

They are currently looking for a dedicated Chef to effectively manage all catering services within the home, delivering high-quality menus in line with residents needs and preferences and within the annual budget. The Chef is responsible for managing the operation of the kitchen including food production, supplies, presentation/service and record management and compliance with quality and safety standards

The Chef will assist to maintain excellent health and safety standards within the kitchen and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations.
The Chef will comply with kitchen staff duty rotas to ensure consistent service and delivery and adherence to budget in accordance with Company policy.

Provide a full domestic service to the kitchen/servery.
Be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen on a day-to-day basis in accordance with legal requirements and the policies of The Woodleigh Community.
Promote high standards of cleanliness.
Observe the policies and procedures of the company.
Keep updated with changes in the law i.e. hygiene etc.
Have knowledge of Fire, Health & Safety Regulations together with First Aid as required.
Implement risk analysis, COSHH and HACCPs e.g. time and temperature control.
Be responsible for purchasing and receiving food supplies within an agreed budget.
Must be able to plan, cook and cater for a Mediterranean diet with healthy eating being the main focus.

Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum two years' experience in a similar role as a Chef with hands-on experience
Possess 706/1 706/2 or equivalent NVQ qualifications
Possess intermediate food hygiene certificate
Possess knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles and interests
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Competent in organisational, time management skills
Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Experience in creative menu writing desirable
