Are you passionate about delivering excellent quality care?
Our client is currently looking for a dedicated chef to assist the Head Chef to effectively manage all catering services within the hospital, delivering high quality menus in line with needs and preferences and within annual budget. This is now an Ad Hoc position, meaning that the shifts will available when needed, however there is a potential of the position becoming an ongoing contract.

Duties will include:
Prepare, cook and serve home-made meals using fresh ingredients that comply with food buying and menu standards.
Provide for the choice, cultural preferences and special dietary needs of Residents
Liaise with central support teams to consistently comply with company nutrition standards and food offer.
Liaise with clinical and Care/Activities colleagues to engage with in food related activities that promote nutritional health and emotional wellbeing. To promote the therapeutic values of the food and beverage offer.
To manage ordering, holding and secure storage of stock. To manage food costs within budget.
To organise and manage the kitchen team efficiently. To supervise daily tasks of kitchen team effectively. To mentor colleagues in their learning and development especially in their responsibilities for food handling and service.
To manage standards of food presentation and service throughout the home.
To clean and maintain the kitchen and food preparation areas and equipment. To report faults and breakdowns.
To maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills. To attend mandatory training and meetings when required. Participate in the learning and development of others. The second Chef will be required to be flexible in their working hours.

Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
· City & Guilds 706 - 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
· Team player
· Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
· Good communication skills
· Ability to work on own initiative
· Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
· Previous management or supervisory experienced
· Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group

All candidates must have a previous DBS within the last 12 months and must be able to provide 3 years' worth of previous employment references.
