Job description: There is an opportunity for a self-motivated, high calbre social worker within the CM16+ Service of Southend Borough Council, specialising in work with UASC.

The post requires knowledge and experience of effective engagement with vulnerable young people and their issues. This is particularly important in cases where the young person is resistant to support and they may be under various risks. The individual employed in this post should have an understanding of risk assessment in relation to matters of child protection and the interpersonal skills to elicit positive engagement in challenging circumstances.

For this position you must also have:

*a degree or masters in Social Work (or any other recognised equivalent qualification)
*1+ years' experience in Children and Families Social Work.
*HCPC registration
