Job description: We are looking for an experienced Operation's Manager for a residential EBD Children's Home in Rochester Kent.
The ideal candidate will have a number of years' experience working in the children's residential care sector and have worked at management level. They should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of young people in care, as well as having working knowledge and understanding of the Quality Standards, regulations and related Ofsted legislation. They will have experience in managing a small team, at the same time maintaining a safe, happy working environment for all. They will have good communication skills and be able to deal with professionals at all levels as well as the empathy to address concerns from the young people and their key representatives or families.

Responsibilities
*To support the Home Manager ensuring that the home is running in a cost effective and quality way, delivering excellent outcomes, care experience and customer satisfaction
*Creating and maintaining quality services and long-term placements
*Ensuring that staffing levels are adequate to meet the needs of the home and that rotas are upheld
*Ensuring that all young people experience a placement experience that is personalised to their needs, identified through a robust assessment system and placement matching
*Keeping effective records, monitoring progress and taking appropriate action to ensure service delivery
*Conducting staff evaluation & regular supervisions with the Home Manager
*Developing a Development Plan and individual Personal Development Plans for the manager and ensuring their implementation

Candidate Requirements
*Experience working in a Operations Manager position (or equivalent) within EBD children's services - management experience essential or A minimum of 3 years' experience managing a residential children's home
*Excellent knowledge of The Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
*Committed to providing an excellent level of therapeutic care for young people
*Focused on the continuous improvement of the quality of care and the outcomes for young people
*A strong communicator - able to balance being collaborative and assertive (when necessary)
*Able to remain calm under pressure
*In possession of a full driving licence and own vehicle
*NVQ Level 5 (CYP) Children & Young People
*CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership - preferable but not essential
