Job description: My client, a local authority based in Leicester, is looking for a Building Cleaning Manager to join their growing team. It is a full time ongoing contract and the successful candidate will have substantial experience of managing commercial cleaning and preferably be a member of BIFM or BICS or equivalent.

The main purpose of the role is to have overall responsibility for the management of in-house and outsourced cleaning activities that ensure the council's buildings are of a standard to maintain frontline operations.

Duties include:
* Managing, coordinating and developing a team of approx 150 staff including 4 direct reports + temporary and external staff (static & mobile).
* Identifying and prioritising key tasks for team members whilst ensuring they have sufficient resources and support to operate effectively.
* Managing other allocated resources including a budget of approximately £1.8m.
* Undertaking inspections to ensure sites are cleaned to the agreed service standards and putting in place plans to address underperformance.
* Developing plans and strategies relating to staff recruitment, retention, absence, development and management.
* Monitoring budgets for staff, materials, equipment and consumables against agreed targets.
* Undertaking service performance analysis and producing financial reports.
* And other duties associated with the role.
