Job description: Hello, Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Clinical Psychologist to work at a locked rehabilitation unit in Blackpool. The role is a full time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. You will be required to work as a self directed practitioner able to make clinical judgements, prioritise and problem solve. The service itself is for patients with serious mental health issues, aged 18+.

To be successful, you must have a BSc Hons. or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

The salary on offer is £42,000 p/a.

Your role will involve delivery of the OT provision, focusing on functional daily living skills and specific mental disorders and risk issues. This will include both individual and group work. The patients will have multiple/complex diverse needs. You will also be responsible for planning and providing group and individual assessment and treatment sessions. You will also be expected to carry out standardised assessments and provide detailed feedback to the multidisciplinary team about clients' abilities and also information about future planning and requirements for progress. Finally, you will undertake treatment planning, involving the client at all possible occasions. And much more!

We are looking for someone who:

HCPC Registered

Minimum 1 years post graduate experience in Occupational Therapy

Experience of working in secure services

Experience working with patients diagnosed with personality disorders

Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy assessments and treatment approaches used in speciality. Including MoHO based tools

specialist ability to use interpersonal skills as a therapeutic medium
Experience of research and audit

Experience of advanced risk assessment

Experience of using specific risk assessment tools e.g. HCR20 / SVR20 (Desirable)

Knowledge and experience of clinical supervision of junior OT staff.

Knowledge and experience of working with people with disturbed and challenging behaviour.

Ability to work within professional code of ethics and professional boundaries, and understanding of how this relates to service development

Ability to use leadership and interpersonal skills to influence change and develop the service
