Stockport’s Community Mental Health Team is looking for a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team. You’ll play a key role in providing emotional and practical support to people in the local community, helping them to maintain their independence and improve their wellbeing.
About the Role:
In this role, you’ll:
- Work one-to-one with individuals from a variety of backgrounds in their own homes and in the community.
- Support people with a wide range of mental health needs, empowering them to regain and maintain their roles in society.
- Deliver flexible, person-centred support based on individual care plans.
- Be a trusted advocate, supporting people in making their voices heard.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to effective team working.
- Manage your own caseload and work autonomously with the support of your manager and colleagues.
We’re seeking someone who:
- Has experience with mental health services – whether as a worker, volunteer, service user or carer.
- Is empathetic, calm under pressure, and confident in responding to challenging situations.
- Can work independently, flexibly, and has great communication skills.
- Is committed to promoting inclusion, equality, and the recovery of individuals.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a suitable vehicle.
- You’ll be part of a supportive, values-driven team.
- You’ll be helping people grow beyond the limitations of their experiences.
- You’ll have access to ongoing professional development and regular supervision.
