Job description: Service Care Solutions are looking for a Complaints Correspondence Officer for a vacancy which has become available in Kelvedon, Essex.

This role will co-ordinate the OPCC complaints function including analysing and responding to complaints, providing advice to the PCC and Chief Executive on complaints policy and practice, and responding to complex correspondence from the public

Main responsibilities:
- Support delivery of the OPCC's complaints programme and co-ordinate the public complaints process, including understanding complaints procedures; interpreting, advising on and responding appropriately to complaints; and analysing and reviewing complaints.
- Undertake quarterly dip sample exercises of Essex Police complaints and making recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare for and support the PCC (Police and Crime Commissioner) in quarterly review meetings of the Essex Police Professional Standards Department.
- Consider and provide responses to complaints against the Chief Constable of Essex, and liaise with outside forces and/or the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as appropriate.
- Provide high quality responses to complex correspondence from members of the public, MPs and councillors, in liaison with the PCC and Senior Management Team (SMT) as appropriate.
- Be responsible for the accurate and detailed logging of complaints received and timely updating of records on the OPCC complaints management system (CRM).

This is a police-based role, so applicants will be subject to police security checks.
It is advised that applicants have a clean DBS/CRB within the last 3 years.
