Job description: My client, a local authority, are currently looking for a configuration analyst to work on an initial 3 month contract in Bournemouth.

Job spec:

* carrying out a wide range of hands on, case management system, configuration tasks
* creating or editing system workflows, steps, forms and letters
* creating or editing java script within workflow steps and system forms
* supporting colleagues tasked with carrying out similar packages of work
* ensuring system functionality facilitates business processes
* assisting with setting up configuration standards and version control
* writing configuration documentation to support future support and development
* documenting and backing up configurations prior to modification
* liaising with other project teams involved in reporting, migration, support, testing, training, finance and integration
* recording and reporting on progress against established project plans
* working with colleagues to add detail and value to existing work packages
* staying up to date with changes in system functionality due to new releases
* assisting with training plans and eLearning development where required, based on application configuration
* discussing system functionality with users at various levels to determine best configuration
* preparing areas of the system for handover to the testing team prior to UAT

Person Spec:

* you will have a good working knowledge and preferably some previous experience of configuring commercial database systems
* you will have a good general understanding of the software development lifecycle
* you will have a good understanding of java script in a database application environment
* you will be able to add a valuable contribution when discussing the best methods for configuring advanced system functionality
* you will be able to share your knowledge with others in order to increase productivity
* you will have a buoyant personality with a can do attitude to work in a highly challenging environment
* you will have a positive approach to change in general and be a positive influence on those around you
* you will be methodical in organising a complex array of business requirement related tasks
* you will be friendly, approachable and presentable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
* you will be able to work as part of a team but with minimal supervision
* you will be able to work under pressure and organise your own time effectively
* you will be able to manage changes and versions across multiple business areas
* you will be able to pick up new skills outside of your immediate discipline in order to assist colleagues with application related tasks
* you will have good interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with staff at various levels of seniority and understanding
* knowledge and/or experience of eLearning/user experience/human factors desirable
* knowledge and/or experience of web authoring tools and standards desirable
