Job description: A Housing Association based in Nottinghamshire is looking for a Senior Construction Manager to join their team. This is a full permanent position and the successful candidate must have experience in a similar managerial role, a Degree level qualification or Chartered status in a relevant discipline covering Building or Construction and ideally previous experience in a Housing Association setting.

The main purpose of the role is to lead the successful delivery of all internal new build on site for the
Company.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

Take the lead under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Commercial & Contract Services for the unction of our direct procurement service, including building designs and construction of new build houses, large scale new build contracts, supply chain management, and subcontracting functions.
Responsible for monitoring and updating policy with regards to Construction Services.
Once a site is in production, monitor monthly valuations carried out for each project; and ensure accurate cash flow and programme forecasts are maintained at all times.
Review all proposed variations in order to minimise costs whilst ensuring programme and quality is achieved.
Obtain approvals necessary before any contract instruction or variation is issued.
Carry out Cost Value comparisons as required reviewing costs and taking necessary action to rectify variances.
Ensure that any actual or anticipated variances outside of approved project budgets are reported in writing to the Director.
Take the lead in consultation with the Assistant Director for the management of multiple construction projects concurrently and with underpinning commercial ability to manage people, budgets and costs.
Assist and support the Assistant Director, Commercial &Contract Services and ultimately assist in growing the business.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes/experience;

Significant experience leading construction projects and developing relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and partners to influence and achieve organisational outcomes.
Interpreting internal and external customer needs; tailoring solutions/proposals to ensure high customer satisfaction
Applying measures and controls to control costs and make recommendations for improvements for the service
Effectively managing resource to meet changing business needs, budget to support the delivery of cross-functional projects
Managing plans and taking ownership and accountability to ensure projects and short-mid-term commitments are completed/delivered and risks evaluated

The client is looking to move quickly in appointing to this position, as such is offering a very competitive annual salary of £48,530 - £51,507 (dependant on skills/qualifications) along with an excellent benefits package.
