Salary Range: £36,302 - £40,446 per annum
Type of contract: Permanent
Full time: 37 hours per week
Based at: Lyndhurst & Lymington
Job Summary
Our client are looking for a highly motivated and driven procurement & supply chain professional to join their strategic procurement team, working within their Governance & Regulation Service in support of commercial supply contracts related to the Housing Maintenance and Repair Service.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and driven professional with a track record in the procurement and supply chain sector (either Local Government or Private Sector) with the ability to combine innovative thinking and technical expertise to deliver supply chain solutions that will drive step change performance for Service teams. This will involve working closely with service teams to understand their procurement and supply needs in order to develop relevant and proportionate solutions.
The Housing Maintenance Service is undergoing a major phased transformation of delivering repairs through ICT scheduling and appointment system which has reshaped the service delivery to the customer. This transformation is ongoing and the successful candidate will be a key member of the transformation team in determining process outcomes and system modelling in the final phase.
The successful candidate will have strategic thinking together with technical expertise in delivering procurement and supply chain solutions. This will involve working closely with the Strategic Procurement Manager, Service Manager and Operational Managers to understand their needs and working in close partnership with colleagues in the procurement team to implement modern supply logistics based upon "pull" demand model to replace traditional stores based model from inception, through transition to implementation.
Key Accountabilities -
*Ensure the procurement of good quality, cost efficient and sustainable outcomes consistent with the internal plans and policies
*Support and assist staff who require the services of external suppliers in exploring the range of procurement options available and the selection of the most appropriate route.
*Take a lead role in the development of the tender pack (scope, specification, contract type, evaluation and tender response models).
*Manage category Contracts Register, mobilise contracts and establish ongoing contract monitoring (delivery focus).
*Support the Strategic Procurement Manager in service redesign and alternative delivery models as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to innovation
*The successful candidate will need to have a professional background in procurement and supply chain and must be able to demonstrate that they have the skills to think out of the box and produce sound procurement solutions that achieve excellent value for money.
