Job description: My client, a local authority based in Hertfordshire is looking for a Corporate Estate Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency contract and the successful candidate will have a full relevant professional qualification along with ideally a membership of RICS.

The main purpose of the role is to be the client's expert on all matters relating to the non-housing properties the client owns and to act in the capacity of Corporate Landlord.

The main accountabilities of the role are as follows;

Oversee the implementation of the newly adopted the Asset Management Strategy and Action Plan, ensuring its implementation, within set timescales and within agreed budgets
Challenge the use of property by fulfilling the role of the Corporate Landlord and use performance data to ensure continuing asset review to maximise income
To work collaboratively with all Assistant Directors to develop an understanding of how Corporate Landlord role works and an awareness of how this introduction contributes to raising standards
To ensure that through the Estates function that the objectives of the Capital Strategy are met through the provision of disposal receipts and to ensure that new opportunities are identified.
To manage and grow the income generated from our diverse commercial property portfolio including shops, as well as sustaining a flow of receipts from targeted asset disposals.
To identify new commercial opportunities through initiatives such as the Commercial Property Investment fund
To manage responses to complex professional or politically sensitive issues within the area of responsibility
To demonstrate and implement a clear understanding of the principles of performance and change management through strong leadership.
To manage challenging projects and lead major corporate initiatives involving both the Estates team and appointed contractors and consultants.

The client is looking for the successful candidate to have experience managing teams of senior members of staff and have demonstrable experience in a similar role. The client is looking for the successful candidate to have a full professional qualification along with desirably a membership of RICS, a full UK driving licence and vehicle is also required.
