Job description: A Local Authority based in West London is looking for a Building Services Manager (Corporate FM) to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have a full relevant Facilities Management qualification, extensive experience in corporate FM of schools, day centres etc., including Security, Catering and Cleaning services and ideally experience in a local authority setting.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the budget and programme delivery of services operating within Councils Corporate buildings, Schools, Day Centres etc. The role will have direct management responsibilities Security Staff, for the effective delivery of all security, catering and cleaning across the borough.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

Working within the Facilities Management section of the Commissioning & Commercial Services Division with responsibility for ensuring the overall delivery of our FM service.
Responsible for managing a team of 150 staff.
The role will also manage a budget of circa £5m including the corporate FM budgets as well as those on behalf of schools.
Building Services is responsible for delivering services across the Council, including building cleaning, catering and security.
It ensures the Council's operational corporate stock is properly serviced and kept safe, enabling the continuing provision of services to the community.
It provides comprehensive suite of services to the Civic Centre, Central Depot, Schools in the FM SLA, other corporate buildings as well as a landlord compliance regime for schools not in the SLA and operates the council's out-of-hours service.
The Building Services Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Council sites are available and fully serviced to allow the users of the site to enjoy full usage.
Be responsible for building and property related Health and Safety matters across all corporate sites. This includes ensuring fire risk assessments and fire safety strategy.
To manage the functions so that the services provided are responsive to customer requirements, accessible to all areas of the community and provide value for money.
Oversee the Building Services team ensuring timely delivery of the full range of SLA to the stakeholders, corresponding to the contractual obligations and corporate policy and governance

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills/attributes;

Degree or other relevant qualification
Working knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Welfare legislation and approved Codes of Practices.
Contract Management of an FM performance regime.
Experience of monitoring FM contracts.
Knowledge of procurement.
Experience in managing the provision of FM soft Services (Cleaning and Security) and general building management experience.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £30 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx. £730 p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
