Job description: Service Care Solutions are looking for a Qualified Fraud Investigator to work on a major contract in the Blackpool area.

Our client is looking for a qualified fraud investigator who will be able to undertake a number of investigations with minimal support. The investigations primarily will focus on NFI and council tax fraud and will also cover any other type of fraud which you could expect to come across in a local authority.

The successful person will need to be able to effectively complete an investigation from when a referral is received, through to the collection of evidence, undertake interviews under caution and produce a prosecution file at the end (where appropriate). They will be supervised by the Senior Corporate Fraud Officer on all investigations.

Main duties and responsibilities:
*Carry out fraud investigations ensuring evidence is gathered, recorded and maintained in compliance with documented standards and legislation governing evidence. This will include investigating a range of potential fraudulent activity for systems such as council tax support and employee fraud.
*Dealing with sensitive and potentially complex investigations in relation to employee fraud including undertaking the investigation and reporting findings to Disciplinary Hearings.
*Participate in proactive / data matching exercises to help detect potential areas of fraud, this includes assisting with the delivery of the National Fraud Initiative.
*Accurately collate, assess and evaluate evidence to determine the suitability for further investigation and the appropriate action to be taken.
*Establish and maintain working relationships for liaison with both internal and external customers on matters related to the investigation of fraud.
*Maintain comprehensive records of all frauds investigated and ensure that these are subject to appropriate quality review before further action is taken.
*Undertake investigative interviews and take statements in accordance with current legislation and guidance.

*GSCEs/NVQ2/Level 2 Diploma or equivalent qualification, including Maths and English
*Accredited counter fraud officer qualification (CIPFA Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or equivalent)
