Job description: Our client in Warwickshire is currently looking for Custodial Care Officers to join their teams on a permanent basis.

As a Custodial Care Officer, you will be engaging and developing young offenders in order to enable rehabilitation and reduce re-offending. This will involve supporting the young offenders whilst they go through a variety of education and offending behaviour programmes, designed to aid them in self-realisation and in turning their lives around in preparation for their release. You will also be in charge of attending and contributing to meetings to support the care management, resettlement and temporary release of young offenders.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is deeply empathetic and follows the BIONIC (believe it or not, I care) culture. You will be someone who can effectively analyse and evaluate evidence to objectively assess cases whilst complying with regulatory requirements in all practice. The ability to effectively communicate is also vastly important to this role, as you will be collaborating with colleagues, partners and external agencies in order to effectively rehabilitate the young offenders. In addition, you will be a calm and resilient individual, with the ability to remain collected whilst working with challenging and often confrontational young people.

This position is based on a rotational shift work pattern where you will be working both day and night shifts as well as including working every other weekend. There will be 7 weeks of paid training for all successful applicants, which will provide you with the qualities to become an effective Custodial Care Officer. You will also require an Enhanced DBS for this position.
