Job description: Job Title: Customer Services Adviser (Face to Face)
Location: Shropshire
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full Time

We have a vacancy within the Face to Face section of Customer Services at a Local Authority . You will be providing a face to face customer service role to the residents of Shropshire so previous face to face customer services experience is required. You will need to be a quick learner. Knowledge of the services provided by a council and knowledge of council systems would be beneficial.
You will be:
* handling enquiries about council services
* helping customers apply for services and report issues
* handling paperwork and verification
* dealing with homelessness and customers in crisis situations
The team deals with face to face enquiries for the Local Authority but also has the remit of encouraging customers to self-serve by using our telephone and computer facilities at our sites. This placement will predominantly be based either in the North of the county or in Shrewsbury on Mondays and Tuesdays and then in Shrewsbury from Wednesday to Friday. Please note, however, that the successful person could be asked to provide cover at any of the following face to face customer service points throughout Shropshire (Bridgnorth, Oswestry, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Market Drayton and Whitchurch).
This placement is for 2 months initially with the potential to extend. The hours per week may vary as our sites have different opening hours but they will range from 28 to 34.5 hours per week.
To be considered for this role you must have;
*Experience of dealing a face to face customer service
*Experience of delivering an excellent standard of customer service
*Experience of working in a Local Authority (Desirable)
*Experience of dealing with customers in a frontline multi-channel delivery service
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate these during difficult conversations
*Willing to work co-operatively with others
